Personal Space

Depict your idea of personal space by using brown paper and charcoal!
9 sketches on brown paper of 15x15cms

I look back to this exercise from my 4th semester and think, I could have done so much better!
I would love to be a person who looks back at their old projects and thinks "Wow! I could NOT have done better!" Who wouldn't? That would be an ideal situation and we all know its impossible to achieve. So, lets give ourselves a break. Although, this exercise has made me realize that the idea of personal space changes with time. Change, is good.

1. The first diagram (starting from top left to right) shows fairy lights, They create this angelic halo like presence in a room that instantly feels cozy.
2. It is a cube with jagged faces, some opaque, some transparent. The interplay of light is an important aspect of design.
3. I went forward with the previous thought of personal space but reduced the size in terms of volume.
4. The out. The open. The complete freedom.
5. Trying to explore the idea of a structure with solid walls rather than solid floors and ceilings.
6. An example of the kind of space i wouldn't find welcoming.
7. Unsafe.
8. Extraterrestrial.
9. Serene, through the valley.
10. The void. Somehow depicts stability.
